Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchaser specializing in Oilfield Equipment to join our procurement team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing high-quality oilfield equipment and materials essential for our operations. Your expertise will ensure seamless supply chain management, optimize procurement processes, and maintain strong supplier relationships. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex projects within the oil and energy sector, supporting operational excellence and safety standards.

Duties

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for oilfield equipment, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, focusing on pricing, delivery terms, quality standards, and service levels to maximize value.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, performance reviews, and root cause analysis to foster continuous improvement and mitigate supply risks.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and production planning teams to coordinate procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain comprehensive contract management records, ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and company policies.
  • Perform category management and sourcing activities within the supply chain management framework to optimize costs and supplier diversity.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
  • Support quality management initiatives by ensuring purchased materials meet specified standards and certifications.
  • Lead procurement projects involving complex logistics, materials management, and supply chain coordination for oilfield operations.

Experience

  • Proven experience in procurement within the oilfield or energy industry is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of equipment components on Drilling rigs, Workover rigs, Pumps, BOP's etc.
  • Familiarity with MRP (Material Requirements Planning), production planning, logistics, and supply chain principles.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) applicable to government or large-scale projects.
  • Experience in sourcing manufacturing components or equipment related to oilfield operations is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and negotiate effectively with suppliers. Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
