JC Penney in Brenham to Close April 4, 2015

If you do much shopping at the JC Penney in Brenham, TX you’re going to have to find another store to shop starting in April.  The retail chain will be closing their Brenham location as well as 38 other locations across the nation.

Sarah Holland, Manager of Media Relations & Corporate Affairs stated:

“We continually evaluate our store portfolio to determine whether there’s a need to close or relocate underperforming stores.  Reviews such as these are essential in meeting our long-term goals for future company growth.  While it’s never an easy decision to close stores, especially due to the impact on our valued associates and customers, we feel this is a necessary business decision.

Eligible associates who do not remain with the company will receive separation benefits, and, if possible, we will assist associates in identifying other job opportunities at nearby JCPenney stores. Additionally, we’re offering all associates an on-site career training class.  The class will assist associates in writing resumes, filling out applications, answering interview questions and more.”

The JC Penney in Brenham is scheduled to close on or about April 4, 2015.  The Brenham store has been open since 1986.  Below is a list of all the JC Penney Stores that will be closing across the nation.
