Special thanks to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent Staci Villarreal for joining us today to tell us about the Bluebonnet Master Gardener Association’s Annual Plant Sale.
The event will happen Saturday, April 11th, at Levine Park in Sealy – right across from City Hall on Main Street.
The sale starts at 8:00 a.m. and runs until everything is sold. Get there early for the best selection!
What you’ll find:
– A great selection of fruit trees chosen specifically for our local chill hours
– Blueberries and blackberries
– Beautiful hanging baskets
– Texas natives and Texas Superstar plants that thrive in our hot summers, occasional freezes, and drought conditions
– Roses and much, much more!
The Junior Master Gardeners from Sealy will also have their own handmade items for sale – support these young entrepreneurs!
Why shop with the Master Gardeners?
These knowledgeable volunteers are trained through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. They can help you choose the right plants for your soil, sunlight, and yard. Best of all – the plants are selected to actually grow well
here in Austin County (unlike some big-box store plants that may not match our climate).
All proceeds support important local programs:
– Scholarships for graduating seniors in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties
– Free Lunch & Learn events open to the public
– Educational demonstration gardens throughout the four counties
Tips for the day:
– Bring your own wagon if you’re planning a big haul
– Bring a truck or trailer for larger fruit trees (no delivery service)
– Kids are welcome – it’s a great way to spark their love of gardening!
– Come early – things sell out fast!
