The Bellville High School Brahmadoras brought their talent and energy to downtown Houston as performers in the 75th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade, held on November 28, 2024. The Brahmadoras joined the ranks of esteemed participants in one of the nation’s oldest and most celebrated Thanksgiving traditions, earning cheers from the crowd lining the parade route.
This year’s event was especially significant as it marked the parade’s 75th anniversary and honored Houston athletes who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. Legendary nine-time Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis served as the Grand Marshal, further elevating the prestigious occasion.
Performing alongside high-profile acts such as Theatre Under the Stars and the Apache Belles, the Brahmadoras represented Bellville High School and their community with pride. Their routine, marked by precision and enthusiasm, stood out amid a lineup that included 21 high-flying balloons, 19 colorful floats—featuring icons like Tom Turkey and Santa Claus—six regional marching bands, and other notable performers.
The parade route covered over 20 blocks in downtown Houston, starting at Smith Street and Lamar and winding through city landmarks before concluding at Smith and Dallas. Crowds gathered early to secure curbside seats, creating a festive atmosphere that highlighted the holiday season.
The Bellville High School Brahmadoras joined other Texas performers in paying tribute to community, tradition, and the spirit of Thanksgiving. Their performance resonated not only with the parade attendees but also with those watching at home, as the event was televised across the state.
(We couldn’t find video of their performance captured in the images below, please contact Austin County News Online if anyone has video of it. We’d love to share it!)
